The Pokémon Trading Card Game is turning 30, and the anniversary gets its own set: 30th Celebration. After Celebrations for the 25th birthday in 2021, it is the second major anniversary set. In this article we summarize what has been officially announced: release, rarities, booster contents and products.

Release: September 16, 2026, worldwide at once

30th Celebration launched on September 16, 2026. For the first time, a Pokémon set hit shelves in Japan and internationally on the same day. More products follow in stages: in Japan the Card Sets arrived on October 16, 2026, and in the West further collections are coming through December 2026.

The new rarity: Futuristic Rare (FUR)

With 30th Celebration, The Pokémon Company introduces a new rarity tier: Futuristic Rare, or FUR. The cards have an opalescent full-art design by the artist YOSHIROTTEN. Mew ex and Mewtwo ex have been announced in this rarity. There are also Art Rares (AR) and Special Art Rares (SAR). The Pokémon Company does not publish official pull rates.

What's in a booster?

  • Japanese version: 6 cards, all foil, including one foil Basic Energy. Suggested retail price in Japan: 360 yen per booster.
  • English version: 5 foil cards plus one foil Basic Energy.

Since September 16, 2026 the lineup has included the Elite Trainer Box, Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, sticker, poster and Knock Out collections, 2-pack blisters and the Sylveon ex & Greninja ex Box. The Booster Bundle and Mini Tins followed on October 2. More products such as a Battle Deck, Ultra-Premium Collections and a Binder Collection are announced for October to December 2026.

Is 30th Celebration worth it for collectors?

Anniversary sets are traditionally popular with collectors because they combine nostalgia with new artwork. 30th Celebration adds the new FUR rarity, which no other set has had so far. Price developments can't be predicted. Buy what you enjoy, and store sealed products dry and away from light if you want to keep them sealed.

Conclusion

30th Celebration is Pokémon's big 2026 anniversary set: released worldwide at the same time, all cards foil, with the new Futuristic Rare and a large product range. You'll find all available products in our Pokémon collection and among our Pokémon booster displays.
